Go Noodle House 有間麵館 | One Utama

I wasn't a big fan of noodles but I heard that this noodle shop was highly recommended and it is always packed during the lunch and dinner time. I guess I just have to make a trip there and try out their speciality noodles and meat balls. Their first outlet is actually located at Jaya One, they opened another outlet in One Utama, which is located at Lower ground floor beside the escalator and Reebok outlet. You will spot it easily with the big Chinese style entrance.

The place is almost full by the time we left. We reached there before 6pm for early dinner.

Herbal Tea- RM 2.80
In House Pu Er Tea- RM 2.30
Can you guess which is which? Both looks exactly the same colour, but tastes different.

Trio Special Dark Sauce Pan Mee- RM 9.50
I always prefer dry pan mee over soup pan mee, but not everyone can prepare a nice mixture of the dark sauce for the pan mee. Go Noodle did  good job on the taste and texture of their noodles. Even though I am not ordering their famous superior soup pork noodle, but this is definitely a must try item. I would recommend to add on their bursting meat ball or pork ball as the noodles come with only a handful of extras as you can see.

Bursting Meat Ball with homemade spicy soup- RM 10.90
Add on Pork Ball- RM 3.00
If you like spicy then you should try out their spicy soup. The spicy soup was however a bit too spicy for him. Nevertheless, their mian xian noodle is good in terms of texture and taste, it is a thick version of noodles with a nice chewy bite. The bursting meat balls were delicious, I love the texture of the meat ball, bouncy and juicy. The bursting meat ball is basically a layer of meat ball with pork meat inside.

Pork Roll- RM 5.60
Last but not least,  pork roll as the appetiser. Crispy and nice are the two words I will describe it.

Overall the price is quite reasonable especially for a food outlet in shopping mall. If you are a noodle fan, I would recommend you to try it out.

Roast Factor Glee | Bukit Utama

Recently, my brother and I started hunting on cafe that served hand brewed coffee. We love to try out different types of hand brewed coffee, but unfortunately there isn't a lot of cafes in KL/PJ that serve hand brewed coffee compared to espresso coffee.

Roast Factor Glee is a cafe that serve hand brew and cold brew coffee which is what we are looking for. They also specialise in roasting their own coffee beans in-house. It is a small cafe located in The Club at Bukit Utama, nice quiet little place to do nothing but enjoy coffee during the weekends.

It isn't very eye catching at first glance from the outlook.

The available coffee of the day were written on the wall with the description of the aroma and taste. You can always ask for recommendations from the barista if you cannot make a choice. I love to request the barista to recommend based on my preference on that day.

Cold brew refrigerator

Bread and cakes counter. One of the recommended buns is the brioche with strawberry jam and danish butter.

Hand Pour: Pour Over- RM 20
Guatemala Los Cerritos was our choice of coffee for hand brewed. It is said to have the mild taste of milk chocolate, pleasant rounded body and melonish acidity. The body of the coffee wasn't strong but overall it was still fine and light in taste.

Cold Brew: Black no Regret- RM 18
We chose the Rwanda Inzovu coffee bean as our choice for cold brew. There are three types of bean to choose from for cold brew. If you like a cold light coffee, this will be your cup of coffee.

Mom's pancakes-RM 15.00
The fluffy pancakes are topped with bacon bits and two smoked streaky bacon, served with their strawberry tomato artisan jam and is a hearty breakfast you should get to start a day. However it is only available on Weekends which gave us one more reason to come over on Sunday morning. I love their unsweetened strawberry tomato jam, giving a light taste to the honey coated pancakes.

Love their coffee? You can purchase their in-house roasted bean to make your own coffee at home now.

If you are looking for dessert to bring home. You can get their premium ice-cream with 6 flavours available.

The Strait Cafe @ Centrepoint, BU

While searching through my phone's photos, I found these photos which I took 2 months ago. Brother took me to Centrepoint that day to buy some power surge protectors for the new house. We bumped into this cafe right after the entrance we came in. It was lunch time and the place was packed and busy. We guess it should be good and go for a try. This place serves Penang food like char kuey teow, prawn mee, mee siam and others.

At a first glance on the menu, we were more interested in their set lunch. Besides the daily set lunch, they do have another menu mainly on new set lunch. I forgot to take a picture of their menu while deciding which one to pick as all of them are quite tempting at that time.

We finally chose the set lunch that come with Lor Bak as it is one of our favourite Nyoya dish ever. We hope that it would taste like our mom's Lor Bak and it does seem good!

Daily Lunch Set-RM12.00 nett (comes with a drink)
The set come with the assam prawns cooked with pineapples, lor bak(minced meat in roll) and some Ju Hu Char (mix nyoya vegetable). Brother actually loves the pineapples that were cooked with the prawn. The pineapples  used in the dish were fresh pineapples, not those kind of canned pineapples that most people use nowadays.  The taste was quite good, thumbs up!

Otak Fried Rice (I cant remember the actual name)-RM12
This is a new dish recommended by the waitress. It is actually fried rice with an otak-otak taste as I cant see any otak-otak in the fried rice. However, I feel it tastes more like the the Ulam Fried Rice except it doesn't come with so much vegetables. Like the photo above, the fried rice came along with other side dishes like kangkung, keropok, fried egg and lor bak. The potion was quite big, gave me a supper full meal. Try it!

The drinks were not that good, a bit too sweet.

Definitely will come back again. Kind of a good place for chit-chating with friends as the place was an open-air cafe inside Centrepoint. Pricing wise is still reasonable.
